From The East May 2023

Brethren,
May is packed full of events and activities in all our lives in all scales - personal, masonic, and national. Luckily our days are getting longer to help us a little in our responsibilities. From “Star Wars Day” on May the 4th (be with you) to Mother’s Day to Memorial Day, May will keep you on your toes.
Our lodge is strong, and I’m pleased that our lodge is growing! We have three petitions submitted this month and hope to initiation these good men into the fraternity before going dark for the summer. We have brothers taking initiative to plan and run events including volunteer activities, fund raisers, lodge improvements, and a blood drive!
"Masonry is what you put into it” is absolutely true and you good men keep showing up and proving that you have more to put into it. Brother Carl continues to add cameras to your lodge’s security while also practicing ritual readying for the East. Brother Ken saw a need and has organized every aspect of our upcoming blood drive. Brother James took up the mantle to get a pancake breakfast on the calendar and with Brother Glen distributed tickets to every member of the lodge and several brothers have volunteered to help operate the event. We had Brothers John W, Omar, Carl and two prospective candidates join me at a work party fixing and cleaning the lodge. Brother Adam B sparked a masonic book club that is gaining traction and has been a great way to spend time outside the lodge with brothers.
It says great things about our lodge that our members are not only involved but taking the initiative to do all these things! I’m very proud my lodge and all of and I thank you for your dedication.
