From The East June 2023

June is the beginning of summer and while we are all looking forward to longer days, vacations, and warmer weather, I want you all to know I plan to bring change to our lodge before we go dark later this month.
Many hands make light work and this month I ask that we all use our many hands to benefit the organization. According to our ancient landmarks, it is in no one man’s authority to bring change to freemasonry, so I urge all of you good men to read on, think hard, and decide for yourselves if you will assist in bringing change to the lodge.
Next time you are driving to lodge, work, church, school, the grocery store, or anywhere else, while you are (obviously) spending that alone time rehearsing ritual in your mind, look around at the glorious works of creation, contemplate on the greatness of the Supreme Architect of the Universe, and listen closely for the change that you may hear gently alerting you to its presence and calling you to act.
When you sit down on your couch tonight, before you turn on the TV, take a few moments and spend time digging deep for what change you have to bring to the lodge to benefit our great fraternity.
As you go to bed tonight, before you turn off the nightstand light, look around and contemplate that all things the light touches are gifts from the Supreme Architect of the Universe and that to whom much is given, much is expected. In the glow of that light, there may be a glimmer of something that inspires you to bring change to the lodge.
Your lodge needs you. Pentalpha Lodge has a lot to do, a lot to give, and a lot to offer. We will be having three EA degrees on the 8th and I’d like you to attend that evening to witness the hard work being done by our officers, but also to see and hear what change I am bringing which will include (continued on next page….)
the change I find in my car’s center console, whatever I have in my couch cushions, the spare change I often drop in my nightstand as I get ready for bed, and the jar of change I have in my office that is almost full. You can bring your change in jars, bags, buckets, rolls, handfuls, or a wheelbarrow if you have that much. Pennies are good, quarters are great, and dollar coins (while more rare) are awesome!
The change you bring to the lodge will be used for ongoing general expenses, replacement of worn lodge jewels and paraphernalia, and small repairs to our building. It is greatly appreciated and will be accepted at any June event, so dig deep in those cushions, look around the car, dump out your nightstand drawer, and bring that change to the lodge to benefit masonry!
